Real HEIC to JPG Converter /Pro Quick Start Guide

Real HEIC to JPG Converter is the new name for Real HEIC Converter. Real HEIC to JPG Converter Pro is the Pro version of Real HEIC to JPG Converter. All the screenshots in this tutorial are taken using Real HEIC to JPG Converter, but they just work the same way in Real HEIC to JPG Converter and Real HEIC to JPG Converter Pro.

Note: in Version 2.2.20, the option “Keep Original Orientation” has been changed to “Preserve EXIF Data”.

3 Steps to Convert .HEIC Files to JPEG/PNG/BMP

  • Add files to the tool
  • Config and start converting (Adjust JPEG Compression Quality Factor if required)
  • Open converted image files

How to Add Multiple Files to the tool?

There are four ways to add files to the conversion tool.

Method 1, drag the file(s) from File Explorer and drop them into the area marked as “Drag and Drop files here” in the app.

Method 2, click the button “Add files”, select one or multiple files, and then click the button “Open”.

Method 3, click the button “Add folder”, select the folder that contains .heic files, and then click the button “OK”. All the HEIC files in that folder will be added to the tool.

Method 4, in File Explorer, right click the file, select “Open with”, and then select the app Real HEIC to JPG Converter.

How to Remove Files?

To remove all files from the list, you can click the button “Clear Files”.

To remove on file from the list, you can click the file to select it, then right click and select the menu “Remove it From List”.

How to Convert .HEIC Files?

First, select the correct convert format. The default format is JPEG, but you can always change it to PNG, JPG or BMP from the dropdown list.

Second, change the Output Folder if required. If you want to save the converted images in the same folder as the input one, be sure to select the option “Save in the input file directory”.

Third, optionally, for JPG/JPEG, you can adjust the Compression Quality Factor. If you don’t know what this factor is, please don’t change it. The default value is 75, and you can use your mouse to drag the cursor on the slider to change it.

Fourth, optionally, if you want preserve the EXIF data (including orientation, timestamp, device information, etc. ) regardless of the current image orientations, check the option “Preserve EXIF Data” (Caution: if you check this option, the converted image orientations will be reset to when they were taken). 

Fifth, optionally, if you want to remove the original .heic files after conversion, select that option.

Finally, click the button “Convert” and the conversion process will start now.

Note:  the files in the list are processed one by one from top to bottom. The file which is being converted is also highlighted, and the right column displays the process status of  the file.

How to Open Converted Files?

When the conversion process is complete, the app allows you to open the converted files.

Click the button “Open Folder” to open the output folder, and you will find all the converted files there. Now you can open them by double clicking them to start your default image viewer for this format.

If you want to convert some other files, just click the button “Finish”, and the app will return to the starting UI and you can select files now.

What to Do if the Conversion Failed?

If one HEIC file fails to convert in the app, we kindly ask you to follow the instructions below.
