3 Steps to Compress your PDFs
It takes three steps to compress your PDFs using Real PDF Compressor. Step 1, Add your PDFs to the app. Step 2, Adjust Compression Settings and Compress your PDFs. Step 3, Open the output folder and locate the compressed PDFs.

Step 1: How to Add Your PDFs to the App?
Method 1: Use the “Add File(s)” button. Simply click the button, select one or multiple PDF files and click the “Open” to add them to the app.
Note: On the right side of the “Add File(s)” button, the small triangle button will show you the list of your recent added files.
Method 2: Use the “Add Folder” button. Simply click the button, select the folder containing your PDF files and click the “OK” to add all PDF files in that folder to the app.

Method 3: Use the “Import List” button. Simply click the button, select the List file (txt or csv) that contains your list of PDF files and click the “OK” to import the PDF files to the app.
Note: On the right side of the “Import List” button, the small triangle button will show you the list of your recent imported List files.
Note: A List file is a text file that contains your file list. In the List file, every file takes one line. Each line represents the full path of one file. You can save the current file list to a List file by selecting the menu “File” -> “Save File List”.
How to Remove a File from the List?
In order to remove a file from the list, you need to select to highlight the file, and then click the “Remove” button.
Step 2: How to Adjust Compression Settings and Compress your PDFs?
You can adjust the following settings for your PDF Compression.

Image Quality: The default value is 25%. You can directly change this number in the textbox or use the slider to adjust its value. The smaller the value, the smaller the compressed PDF size will be.
User Password (for Open): If you original PDF is password-protected, you need to fill in the password for it to be able to compress it.
Step 3: Where to Find the Compressed PDFs?
To find the compressed PDFs, you need to open the output folder by simply clicking the “Open Output Folder” button, as show below.
There are three options for Output Folder. They are:
Same Folder of PDF Document – the same folder with a different file name.
Overwrite PDF Document – the same folder and the same file name. (Keep a backup of the original PDF is highly recommended)
Subfolder of PDF Document – a subfolder with the same file name.
What Other Options Can I Adjust?
Real PDF Compressor provides your several other options to customize your compression experience. You can find these options by selecting the menu “Options”.

Keep Creation Date: The compressed file will keep the creation date.
Keep Last Modification Date: The compressed file will keep the last modification date.
Explore Output Folder when Done: When the compression is done. the app will the output folder automatically.
Show Message on Success: The app will show a message when the compression succeeds.
Show Result Window: The app will show a result windows when the compression is done.
FAQ 1: What can I Do if the Compressed PDF Size is not Small Enough?
If the compressed PDF is still too big for your needs, you can adjust the Image Quality to a smaller value and compress it again.
FAQ 2: Can I Compress a Previously Compressed PDF to Continuously Make It Smaller?
No, you cannot. The only way to reduce its size further is to adjust the Image Quality and re-compress it.
