How do I download files from a torrent file or a torrent URL?

To start downloading from a torrent file:

1, Click the menu “File” > “Add Torrent File”, or select the first icon on the toolbar.

2, Choose your torrent file and click “Open”.

3, In the torrent properties window, click “OK”.

Your download will begin immediately.

To start downloading from a torrent URL:

1, Click the menu “File” > “Add Torrent Link”, or select the second icon on the toolbar.

2, Paste the torrent URL into the text box and click “Download”.

3, In the torrent properties window, click “OK”.

Your download will begin immediately.

How can I remove or increase the upload speed limit?

By default the upload speed limit is set to 50 KiB/s. You can adjust or remove this limit at any time.

1, Click “Tools” > “Options”.

2, Select “Speed” from the left navigation panel.

3, Enter your desired speed values under “Global Rate Limits”.

4, To remove the upload speed limit, enter 0 into the field to set it to unlimited.

How do I switch to alternative speed limits?

In the “Options” window, there are two sets of speed controls: Global Rate Limits and Alternative Rate Limits. The app uses the Global Rate Limits by default, but you can toggle between the two sets at any time by clicking the switch icon in the status bar.

How do I create a torrent seed?

In Torrent Downloader Max, you can use the “Torrent Creator” tool to create a torrent file.

1, Click “Tools” > “Torrent Creator” in the top menu bar to open the tool.

2, Select the “Select file” or “Select folder” button to choose the content you want to share.

3, Paste the announce URLs of your public or private trackers into the “Trackers” box.

4, Add any Web seeds or comments if needed.

5, Check important settings based on your needs:

• Private torrent: Check this if you are using a private tracker and do not want DHT/PEX peer discovery enabled.
• Start seeding immediately: Check this to begin sharing the file right after creation.
• Optimize alignment: Check this to optimize piece boundaries for larger files.

6, Click “Create torrent”, choose where to save the resulting .torrent file on your computer, and wait for the progress bar to reach 100%.

Once finished, you can share the saved .torrent file with others or open it in your client to start seeding.

What should I do if I cannot see my download tasks?

If you cannot see your download tasks, an active filter is likely hiding them. To reset the filters:

1, Click the right arrow on the left border of the application to open the filters panel.

2, Set all four filter categories (Status, Categories, Tags, and Trackers) to All.

3, Click the left arrow on the right border of the filters panel to collapse it.

All your download tasks should now be visible.

How do I use the UI Lock?

Torrent Downloader Max provides a UI Lock feature that prevents others with physical access to your computer from seeing or altering your torrenting activity.

You can manage the UI Lock using the following steps:

Set a Password: When you click “Lock Torrent Downloader Max” on the toolbar for the first time, you will be prompted to create a password.

Unlock the app: Clicking the app icon in the notification area or trying to open the main window will prompt you to enter that password.

Clear the Password: Go to the menu “View” > “Lock Torrent Download Max” and choose “Clear password” to remove the password protection.

What should I do if I forget the password?

If you get locked out or the app locks accidentally without a known password, you have to uninstall and reinstall the app.
