How to Play a DVD, Blu-ray, VCD or CD Disc?

There are two ways to play a DVD, Blu-ray, VCD or CD disc in DVD and Blu-ray PLUS.

Note: DVD and Blu-ray PLUS automatically plays your disc in the optical drive when it starts.

Method 1: click the button “Open Disc” as shown below, then choose one Optical drive listed and click the button “Select”.

Method 2: in the Playlist panel, click the button “+”, and then select “Open Disc”.

How to Play a Video File?

Similar to “Open Disc”, there are two ways to open a video file in DVD and Blu-ray PLUS.

Method 1: click the button “Open Files” as shown above, then select one video file and click the button “Open”.

Method 2: in the Playlist panel, click the button “+”, and then select “Open Files”.

How to Play All Media Files in One Folder?

Method 1: click the button “Open Folder” as shown above, then select a folder which contains your media files and click the button “OK”.

Method 2: in the Playlist panel, click the button “+”, and then select “Open Folder”.

The app will add all supported media files in that folder into the playlist so that you can play them one by one.

How to Manipulate the Playlist?

In DVD and Blu-ray PLUS, all opened video files and discs are added into a playlist. The playlist feature is very useful especially when you want to play multiple media files one by one.

You can do the following operations to the playlist: hide/show the Playlist panel, add a media to the playlist, clear the playlist, remove an item from the playlist, save your playlist, open a saved playlist.

Hide/show the Playlist Panel

You can toggle to hide or show the Playlist panel using the button “Playlist”, which is located at the right bottom corner, as show below.

Add a Media to the Playlist

You can use “Open Disc”, “Open Files” or “Open Folder” to add media to the Playlist.

Remove an Item From the Playlist

To remove an item from the playlist, right click it, then select “Remove” from the context menu, as shown below.

Clear Playlist

There are two ways to clear a playlist.

Method 1, right click any item in the playlist, then select “Clear Playlist” in the context menu, as shown above.

Method 2, in the Playlist panel, click the button “three lines”, then select “Clear Playlist”, as shown below.

Save and Open a Playlist File

To save your playlist to a playlist file, you need to click the button “three lines”, then select “Save as”, as shown above.

To open a playlist file, you need to click the button “three lines”, then select “Open Playlist File”, as shown above.

How to Use the Media Player Action Bar – Options & Buttons?

All the player options (Stop, Pause, Play, Previous, Next, Adjust Volume/Mute) and the video’s timeline with a slider to seek forward or backward are on the bottom of the Action Bar. There is also a button to allow you choose audio track and display/hide subtitle in the Action Bar.

Please keep in mind that not all the buttons above are functional for all the movies. For example, depending on the DVD discs, only the Audio tracks and Subtitles that the DVD has embedded inside it are displayed in the selection list and can be selected. Also, the Navigation Menu button on the right (the one with the arrow) is functional only on DVD’s where this option is available.

How to Use the DVD Navigation Menu?

DVD and Blu-ray PLUS transparently supports the official DVD Navigation Menu, designed by the authors of the DVD Movie in order to support the DVD Playback.

When a DVD starts playing, the app autoloads the DVD menu and display all the options available.

These options (for example, languages, subtitles, scene selection and buttons) are displayed before starting the actual playback. You can select different options before or during watching the playback.

How to Enable the Blu-ray Menu?

In order to support Blu-ray menu for this app, 32-bit Java needs to be installed on your PC.

Note: 64-bit Java doesn’t work for this app. You have to install the 32-bit one.

How to Adjust Settings?

To access the settings, you need to click the three dot button at the right bottom corner and then select “Adjust Settings”, as show below.

You are able to change the snapshot folder, playback rate, subtitle track synchronization, Blu-ray menus and the Blu-ray region code in the settings window.

How to Adjust Video Effects?

You can access the video effects adjustment window by clicking the “Track list” button and then the “Video Effects” menu. Four settings can be adjusted: the Brightness, the Contrast, the Saturation and/or the Hue of the currently played video.

How to Toggle Fullscreen Mode?

You can click the button at the bottom right corner to switch Fullscreen On/Off during video play.

How to add subtitle file? How to change title, chapter, audio track, audio device, video track, aspect ratio, subtitle track and subtitle track synchronization?

To access these settings, you need to click the “Track list” button and then select the respective menus.

How to Take a Snapshot?

When you watch a video, you can easily take a snapshot of the video anytime by clicking the “Snapshot” button, as shown below.

All the snapshots taken will be stored in the snapshot folder, which you can config in the Settings window.
